Living large in Fatopia.

As I sit here on Christmas morning 2014, I have so many things to be thankful for it’s amazing. I’m not sure how many will make the list onto this blog, but I just want everyone to know I’m thankful for so many things in my life, especially those of you who take the time out of your lives to read what I write here in the blogosphere. It may not mean much to you, but there are times this is the only thing that keeps the Fat Chick sane and stops Fatopia from burning down around me.

johnny_automatic_Praying_hands1. Thank you, God, for my family and friends, and for letting us get together to exchange gifts, share memories, honor your son’s birth, and make new memories. Thank you for giving me new family members this year in my new granddaughter and grandson (pics to follow soon!), letting me get to know my godson better and spend more time with him (again, pics will be coming soon!), flor letting old wounds be healed, and bringing back the true meaning of Christmas to us all. I have truly been blessed in ways I never expected and am more thankful for than I have word to express. All I can say, Lord, is thank you!

1225141051a2. I’m thankful for the silly little things in life, for they sometimes bring the biggest smiles to people’s faces. This year is my youngest DS’s last “kid” Christmas because he will be 18 in April. He has special needs that will make part of every Christmas a kid Christmas, but this is the last year we get to go all out to give him one. Well, the fat man in the red suit took a parting shot at him in his stocking this year when he left him a bag of coal. This is actually the second year he’s gotten a bag of coal in his stocking, but for some reason, this year instead he’s just gotten the biggest kick out of it, and for that I am truly thankful. It reminds me that sometimes it’s the small things in life that matter most.

And when I got my stocking it turns out I wasn’t as bad as he was this year because I only got two lumps of coal, but I was still a bad girl. I love it, ha, ha, ha!

12221415223. I’m thankful for memories. As they were cleaning for the Christmas gathering, they found some pictures that were a real blast from the past. I took a picture of this one with my phone. It’s from when I was homeschooling two of my sons. )The teenager is my middle DS. He was aboug 15 at the time. The little redhead is my youngest DS, Baby FatChick, LOL!) There were many more memories found that day. I’m so thankful that they were, especially after our house burned in February of 2014. It reminded me just how precious memories are, and how great it is to have a little something to remind you of them when you least expect it.

I don’t do this often, but my dad got a call last night. His cousin who is only four months older than him passed away last night. Please keep her family and friends and our whole family in prayer. Thank you all, and Merry Christmas!

What are you thankful for this Christmas? Let me know in the comments below.
