About

Crystal Schall, The Original Fat Chick

Crystal Schall, The Original Fat Chick

I am not “normal”. Oh sure, I tried to be what the people around me thought I should be, but it never really worked out. I have my own mind, a strong spirit, and a hard head.

I walk around barefoot. I weigh around 450 lbs. I smoke too much and drink sweet ice tea from a plastic cup. I wear shorts year round, even in the dead of winter. I like my shirts 3 sizes too big. I’m a loyal friend, a fierce competitor, and an even worse enemy.

I have a laptop, an opinion, and an internet connection, and I’m not afraid to use them. No one has to listen to me, but I will say whatever I think without hesitation. The good thing is that a person always knows where they stand with me because I’m not afraid to tell them to your face. I’m the kind of person that asks the hard questions about the things everyone wants to know, but is afraid to ask you about to your face.

Don’t let the name of this blog fool you. Fat Chick 411 isn’t about diet and exercise or food and drink… well, not exclusively. This blog is about me because I am The Original Fat Chick and is the place to come to get the 411 about me and what’s sloshing around in the muddy water between my ears. Feel free to follow along if you dare.

  2. I like your voice… What I like most about it is how straightforward you are about who you are and what you’re about. Even that little insight is enough to say “let’s do a little digging.” 😉

Thanks for the likes and the follow (not to mention the feedback) on my blog. I know exactly what you’re describing and will work to fix it. Keep your eyes peeled.

  4. Hello…

Here’s a little message from Türkiye to say “thank you”. I appreciate your ‘follow’, knowing how many interesting and entertaining blogs there are out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my little corner of the world tries to offer an eclectic smattering of posts, from basic amateur photography, to sharing my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on our fruit farm in southern Turkey. I also throw in a few of my observations on life and lighter-hearted stuff for good measure.

You are more than welcome to have a look around, stay a while and have a trawl through my small collection. There are plenty of drop-down categories within the menu bar to help in said digging process. Of course, if you have any comments, suggestions or concerns, feel free to let me know – I’m not easily offended 🙂

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…

  5. Hallo!

And here I find myself writing another post (organic community building for business blogs) and thinking of you (again).
When I stopped by your blog last time to give you a heads-up about the link, I noticed your follower count. I was wondering when you started blogging and if you have any idea why your blog has been so popular?
I should publish the post within the next few days and it would be fantastic to have your comment on it!

    • I think it has to do with me having my Facebook and Twitter accounts connected to this account. I have 2,000+ friends on Facebook because I used to be a big time gamer, and 1,000+ followers on Twitter just because they’re following me. I have no idea why I have that many followers on Twitter to be honest. If you add the two numbers together, you get almost the exact same number that WordPress says is the number of people following my blog. So, technically, I don’t think there are that many people really hanging on my every word. I think that is how many people a post I make could possibly reach through those two accounts.

We know better, though, don’t we? With Facebook’s algorithm being the way it is, there’s no way my posts are reaching all 2,000+ of my friends every time I post. The same goes for Twitter. Although I do believe my tweets stand a better chance of being seen by most of my followers, the streams on Twitter move so fast when a person has anywhere near that many people that they’re following that there’s just no way all the tweets can be seen. That’s where lists come in on Twitter, but that’s a whole other story unto itself.

Hope that answered our question in time 🙂

    • Thank you so much. I try to be upbeat, but it doesn’t always go that route. A prime example will be the next series of posts I’m working on. FatChick411 is finally going to share some info about something near and dear to my heart and maybe, just maybe, I’ll win a few people over to my way of thinking 🙂

    • Hi, girl. Sorry I’m so late replying. You wouldn’t believe what life’s been throwing at my family, but God knows best. He doesn’t put any more on us than we can bear. I just wish He didn’t trust me so much sometimes, LOL. I’ve been to your blog and saved the graphic and the rules. Thank you for the nomination. I really needed the prompt to get me thinking. Now…who or what will be banished…bwahahahaha!!!

      • I figure nominations never expire and some of them take forever to complete so no problem. Besides, life always has to come first and those of us with bipolar have weeks when we are just useless so, of course, I totally understand and appreciate your late arrival. I do not know your current struggles but I will add your family to my prayers. God does test us and we grow.

        • Writer’s block is just the tip of the iceberg. I’m about to give it one more try and if I can’t write a full blog post this time I might just let fatchick411 go :/ Thank you for the prayers. They’re always appreciated ❤

          • I’ve been in the thick of my bipolar all of February so haven’t done much myself. It’s nice to see you’re purple smilyface show up on my comment thread though. Good luck and God bless.

Oh, afterthought, if an entire blog is too much for you, you might consider heading over to https://letterstothemindblog.wordpress.com/ we are always looking for contributors to share pieces about living with mental disorders. 🙂 No worries if even that is too much. I get it. I really, really do.
